21-Year-Old Celebrating, Shot Over 'Disagreement'

A man was celebrating his 21st birthday when a "minor disagreement" resulted in his being shot in the head.

Barry Lee Vertner and Bryant Christopher Mcgee, both 21, were celebrating Vertner's birthday when what Mcgee called a "minor disagreement" broke out between them. Both Vertner and Mcgee grabbed firearms, pointing them at each other but, according to the probable-cause statement, McGee began to lower his weapon when it went off. Vertner fell to the ground and was found unconscious by medical authorities, but still alive.

McGee was placed under arrest and faces charges for third-degree assault. While attending the court hearing, McGee only asked about the condition of Barry.
