Arizona Sees Fewer Traffic Fatalities This Year

Last year marked an extremely deadly year for Arizona drivers, with 626 traffic-related deaths. This year, however, traffic fatalities have drastically decreased, according to the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. In fact, the total of traffic-related deaths this year has dropped to 350, a 44 percent decrease. While the data GOHS provided doesn’t offer a monthly breakdown of alcohol-related traffic fatalities, the current count of 51 alcohol-related deaths is far less than half of 2021’s 230 total death count.
