Slav Talavera is a trial attorney who has been advocating for family rights in the State of Texas for over six years. His entire career has been devoted to the practice of Family Law with an emphasis in complex asset division and military divorce. He is fluent in Russian, Spanish and English.
Slav has been recognized nationally by prestigious law organizations such as the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys (Top 10 Under 40 for 2015), The National Advocates (Top 40 Under 40, and Top 100 Lawyers), the highest designation from online law directory AVVO Corporation (“Superb” rating) and American Institute of Family Law Attorneys (10 Best Client Satisfaction for 2015 and 2016).
Slav was licensed to practice law in December of 2010 and began practicing family and civil law for Legal Aid of Texas. He was an associate attorney covering 52 counties in the State of Texas. During his time at Legal Aid, Slav became licensed in three Federal District Courts and became a Texas Veteran’s Commission licensed attorney.
After Leaving Legal Aid Slav went on to practice in Bell County Texas where he became the President of the Bell County Young Lawyers and continued an extensive career of litigation and community involvement. Slav practiced exclusively family law with an emphasis on military issues and complex retirement division. Slav has continued to be involved with the community and with several charitable organizations.
Slav graduated from Washington University in St. Louis where he received a Presidential Scholarship. He graduated with honors receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Arts and a Bachelor of Sciences. After school Slav briefly worked in the financial sector before deciding to apply to law school. Slav went on to attend Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas where he was voted Jackson Walker Moot Court Champion and Best Oral Advocate.
