Austin resident killed in car crash
A 23-year old Austin resident died in an unfortunate motor vehicle accident last Sunday, October 2nd, 2011 near a San Antonio neighborhood.
According to the Austin American-Statesman, Michael Wilson died instantly when an SUV struck his vehicle near Loop 1604. Chief of Police Rex Rheiner stated that the cause of the accident was a vehicle running a red light, but it's currently unknown which driver had the right-of-way.
Wilson, an Iowa native, served the United States in Iraq, and was awarded a Purple Heart. He recently moved to Texas just months before the fatal crash.
