Austin Water Utility Worker Killed in Work Incident

Timothy Louviere, age 53, was killed on Friday, March 2nd, 2012 after being crushed by a backhoe while working for Austin Water in the South Austin area, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
Several Austin Water workers were near Mopac and Lamar on Friday morning when the incident occurred in attempts to upgrade the service lines. Louviere, a 22 year veteran and senior pipeline technician, had family in the area and facts surrounding the incident haven’t been released.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene immediately, and Barton Hills Drive was closed down for the majority of the day after the incident. Additionally, engineers were called to the scene in order help determine the cause.
