Is it Necessary to Sign a Release to get Compensation or Payment from the Insurance Company?
Most often the answer is going to be yes with a third party, the responsible party, the only way that they are going to send you any money is if you sign that release and the release prevents you from ever coming back again for the same incident against the same party. However, if you use your own insurance coverage thru PIP, most often you don’t have to sign a release. Even with your UIM coverage through your own insurance coverage if that applies, you may not have to sign a release on that instance either. However with the third party that's responsible for your injuries, the insurance companies always going to make you sign a release because they don’t want you coming back and ever asking for more money again.
