What to do After an Injury on Another Party’s Premises

What to do After an Injury on Another Party’s Premises

Oftentimes, people will visit a business to either shop or eat or enjoy entertainment. Sometimes there can be dangerous conditions on the business’ premises that an individual can visit. You want to make sure if you’re ever injured, say, in a grocery store that you immediately inform the manager of the business and demand that a report be made. If you suffer any bodily injury, you want to make sure that you immediately get treatment for those injuries.

After your initial treatment, you want to make sure that the store where you were injured will preserve all evidence of the incident that caused the injury. If you slip and fall on spilled liquid in a grocery store, for example, you want to make sure that if there’s any surveillance cameras in the store that management and the company and the corporate headquarters is on notice that they need to preserve that evidence. What you want to do is either contact an attorney, who can send what’s called a spoliation notice or send a letter in writing to the store and the corporate headquarters instructing them to preserve any and all evidence of the incident.
