CASE SUMMARY

SKIIER INJURED AT SKI RESORT IN COLORADO

Our client, an outdoor enthusiast and a skillful snowboarder, was snowboarding down a green slope at a popular ski resort in Colorado. Our client was familiar with this particular ski resort, and had visited earlier in the year during the Spring season.

As our client made a side-turn behind a “SLOW” sign on the slope, another skier who was traveling at a high rate of speed struck him from behind. Our client sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was unable to walk or stand immediately after the crash. The other skier admitted that the crash could have been avoided had he been traveling slower down the slope.

Our attorney argued that our client’s injuries were the direct result of the negligent actions of the other skier, including:

  • Failing to abide by the Skier’s Responsibility Code;
  • Failing to yield the right-of-way;
  • Maintaining an unsafe distance from other people on the ski slope;
  • Keeping an improper lookout;
  • Traveling at an unreasonable speed given the circumstances;
  • Exhibiting inadequate skier attention;
  • Skiing distracted; and
  • Choosing to violate safety rules.

CASE RESULTS

This case settled in litigation, and our client received compensation for:

  • medical expenses;
  • future medical treatment;
  • lost wages;
  • emotional distress;
  • pain and suffering; and
  • physical impairment;

A Message from L.C.

‘I called multiple firms before Zinda, and what made me decide on Zinda was that they actually seemed concerned. A lot of the other firms all just wanted the information and didn’t really care too much about anything else. When on the phone with Zinda and every meeting, they always asked about my personal life, how I was doing, and they got to know me and made me feel comfortable with tI had a skiing accident and was severely injured. After deciding to file a case, I counseled three personal injury law firms. Without doubt, I chose Zinda Law Group to represent my case as I was impressed by their professionality. I worked with Joe Caputo and John Rogers, two excellent lawyers and nice people to work with. They provided me all the information that I needed and helped me analyze every bit of the case thoroughly. They answered every question that I had promptly and patiently. Thanks to their incredible work, we reached a satisfying settlement without delay. Among the aftermaths of the accident and along with the painful journey of recovering from my injuries, their dedication has definitely given me relief. ''
