Charter Bus Overturns in Dallas
Several hospitals near San Marcos, Texas were kept busy last weekend when a charter bus overturned, sending all 21 passengers to seek medical attention.
According to San Marcos Police Chief Howard Williams, was en route from Mexico to Dallas, Chicago and then Des Moines, when it veered off Interstate 35. In an attempt to over-correct the mistake, the bus driver caused the bus to overturn. As a result, both north and southbound lanes of the highway were blocked for several hours, causing a serious delay in traffic.
Four of the passengers suffered injuries severe enough to require an airlift to University Hospital in San Antonio and another hospital in Austin. The youngest passenger, a four-year-old boy, received cuts and a broken leg, and was taken by helicopter to Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin.
