Hit and Run Leads to Another Crash
According to the Austin American-Statesman, on Saturday December 17th, 2011 a 23-year old male led police on a chase down the streets of Austin after he had been involved in a hit-and-run collision.
A police officer witness Xiavier Estrada crash into the back of a black sedan on Saturday evening near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Next, Estrada fled the scene as the officer pursued. Estrada then ran a red light and continued to drive at speeds over 100mph while attempting to leave police behind.
As the chase continued, Estrada crashed into the back of a Capital Metro bus near Airport Boulevard. While there were no passengers in the Capital Metro bus, Estrada and the two passengers in his vehicle sustained serious injuries. He was arrested and was placed in the Travis County Jail.
