Transvaginal Mesh Injury Lawyers in McKinney

Various news agencies have reported on recent lawsuits filed on behalf of women who have undergone the transvaginal mesh procedure. Women across the country have sued Boston scientific, and other companies who manufacture the Pinnacle Pelvic floor repair kit and other versions of transvaginal mesh.

Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Ethicon has also been sued in a similar case and experts believe this is only the tip of the iceberg. The transvaginal mesh device was originally invented to reinforce weakened vaginal walls and repair pelvic organ prolapse. The FDA is now saying that a number of complications have arisen including infection, bleeding, mesh erosion through the vagina and bowel, and organ perforation.

Because the procedure was designed to be permanent, doctors have had very little success at removing imbedded transvaginal mesh. In many of the current lawsuits, victims are saying that the device is defective and that the companies who manufactured the product failed to warn the public about the dangers. In one case filed against Ethicon, the company was ordered by a judge to pay over $3 million for damages.

To date, several thousand transvaginal mesh lawsuits have been filed against the manufacturers and many experts are saying that Johnson & Johnson, Boston Scientific, and other companies did not adhere to the FDA’s guidelines when testing the product. These same experts have also alleged the companies in question used loopholes in the system to avoid the standard tests required for approval from the FDA.

Victims are upset and confused and searching for answers and the FDA has ordered over 30 of the manufacturers of vaginal mesh to perform post-market safety tests. For those who have already had the surgery, this action seems like “too little too late”.

What Are Your Rights As a Victim?

In many cases the Transnational Mesh procedure cannot be reversed, leaving victims with a lifetime of pain and suffering. If you or someone you know has had this surgery and you are experiencing any of these symptoms, then please contact the Law offices of Zinda Law Group today:

  • Chronic infection
  • Bleeding
  • Pain
  • Discomfort
  • Difficulty having sex

Many experts are charging the manufacturers of transvaginal mesh with being more interested in getting their product to the market first than in making certain that it is safe for the public.  Though your doctor may be able to perform additional surgeries that can alleviate some of your suffering, the sad fact is that some patients must live with a lifetime of pain and discomfort.

If you are one of the thousands who have had this procedure performed and you are currently suffering with painful symptoms, then call Zinda Law Group PLLC of McKinney today to learn about your legal rights. Our law firm is currently handling mass tort lawsuits for victims of this procedure and we have completed extensive research so that we can better understand the findings of the FDA and represent victims successfully.
