Plastic Found in Bumble Bee Chicken Salad Prompts Recall

Bumble Bee chicken salad is the latest food to be recalled because of a health violation. Over 72,000 pounds of the canned meals will be recalled after various consumers filed complaints because they found pieces of hard plastic in their food. Bumble Bee chicken salad is made by the Suter Company in Illinois. The announcement was made by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspection Service (FSIS).

The Bumble Bee Lunch on the Run chicken salad kit, 8.2 ounce, is one of the two products recalled. The package also contains crackers, fruit and a cookie. It has an expiration date of February 2012. The other recalled item is the 3.5 ounce chicken salad with crackers. The packages were shipped all across the United States between August 14-28.
