Tim Hay, from Burleson in North Texas, was killed during a car race in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The Eddyville Raceway Park is a legal racing ground, and the group that was racing is called The Outlaw Fuel Altereds. These racers use cars that have been altered to run on blown alcohol and nitro.
The co-owner of the track, Scott Gardner, has relayed the incident. He says that Hay lost control of his car, as often happens at high speeds, and it ran into the safety wall, which then caused it to roll over.
Car and truck roll overs are often deadly. Hay was one such victim. Hay had been married for more than 20 years and has 3 children. He was 49 years old.
