Two Killed, Two Injured in Lubbock Plane Crash
A plane crash near High Planes Airport has resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to two others. It is not yet known what caused the single-engine Cessna 182 to crash.
The pilot, 62 year old Gery Anthony Franklin, and one of the passengers, 27 year old Daniel Rene Lopez, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Lopez's wife, 27 year old Christine Lee Lopez, was seriously injured with multiple broken bones. The other passenger, 29 year old Cody Adam Brockman suffered a broken leg. The two survivors were taken to Lubbock Hospital, where they are recovering.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the aviation accident occurred at Levelland Municipal Airport last night. The airport is located about 30 miles outside of Lubbock.
