Wrong-Way Collision Kills 1, Hospitalizes 2
When a Crown Victoria entered the Stemmons Freeway in the wrong direction early this morning, the driver probably did not think that his decision would end in the death of his passenger. The driver and his passenger were both transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where the passenger died. The driver is still listed as in critical condition.
A woman in another vehicle was injured and was transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center. She is in stable condition.
Police suspect that the driver of the Crown Victoria was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Drunk driving accidents are taken very seriously by the law, and if the driver is convicted of DUI, the injured victims or the family of the deceased victim may use the conviction as evidence in a personal injury claim.
