Chelsea Gumm

Trial Attorney

Chelsea Gumm is a dedicated trial attorney at Zinda Law Group, based in the firm’s Austin office. A passionate advocate for justice, Chelsea’s decision to become a lawyer was deeply personal and rooted in a desire to use her talents to serve others. Inspired by her late grandfather, a respected attorney in her hometown, Chelsea knew early on that she wanted to be a voice for those who couldn’t speak for themselves. Personal injury law offered her the opportunity to meet people in their most difficult moments and fight on their behalf for justice.

Chelsea has handled a wide range of personal injury cases, including car and trucking accidents, dog bites, premises liability, and wrongful death. She is especially drawn to severe and catastrophic injury cases that involve complex litigation issues. Known for her analytical mind, detail-oriented nature, and compassionate approach, Chelsea is a steadfast advocate who strives to make a meaningful impact in the lives of her clients.

Chelsea began her legal career at Zinda Law Group in 2017, first clerking during law school and then joining full-time after graduation. Her experience includes working as a legal intern for the Collin County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, where she helped secure a guilty verdict in an assault family violence bench trial. She also completed judicial internships at the McLennan County Court at Law No. 2 and the State Office of Administrative Hearings.

Chelsea earned her Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law in 2018, where she was a Grade-On Member and Senior Executive Editor of the Baylor Law Review. During law school, she was also active in the Christian Legal Society, Women’s Legal Society, and Public Interest Legal Society. She was named to the Dean’s Academic Honor List and received the Andrews Kurth LLP Award for Outstanding Work for the Baylor Law Review. Chelsea earned the “High A” in Legal Analysis, Research, and Communications, Parts I and II as well as in Criminal Practice & Procedure. She also participated in the Strasburger & Price Moot Court Competition and earned the distinction of “Barrister.” Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Writing from Baylor University, where she graduated magna cum laude.

Licensed in both Texas and Colorado, Chelsea is also pursuing licensure in New Mexico and Arizona. She is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, Austin Bar Association, Austin Young Lawyers Association, and the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association.

Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her husband, Cole, and their energetic Border Collie, Scout. Whether it’s being on the water near Barton Springs, attending a live music show, or exploring Austin’s vibrant food scene, Chelsea embraces everything her city has to offer.
