Brian T. Burkhardt is a trial lawyer at Zinda Law Group, based in Fort Worth. His decision to pursue a career in law was fueled by his passion for standing up for those who cannot fight for themselves. Brian believes that the law is the great equalizer, and personal injury law provides him with the opportunity to level the playing field for his clients against large corporations and powerful insurance companies. He is dedicated to ensuring his clients receive the representation and justice they deserve.
Brian has handled a wide variety of personal injury cases, including car collisions, premises liability, and wrongful death. Before joining Zinda Law Group, Brian gained first-chair jury trial experience in both personal injury and criminal defense cases, making him a well-rounded and effective advocate. He is particularly passionate about cases involving large corporations and complex legal issues.
Brian’s extensive courtroom experience has taught him to prepare every case as if it were going to trial, ensuring his clients are always in the strongest position possible. His tenacity and strategic approach define his style as a lawyer and have contributed to his success in the courtroom. In 2023, Brian achieved a Top 50 Personal Injury Verdict in the state of Texas, a testament to his skill, dedication, and relentless advocacy. Brian was selected to the Texas Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers in 2023 and 2024 and has been nominated again for 2025.
A native Texan, Brian attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he served as Chairman of the Board of Barristers, the school’s prestigious trial advocacy organization. During law school, he competed in and won several national advocacy competitions, including the American Bar Association’s Arbitration Competition in Chicago. These accomplishments reflect Brian’s competitive drive and his commitment to excellence in advocacy. He was also selected as a member of the Order of the Barristers, an honor recognizing his trial skills and advocacy achievements.
Brian is licensed to practice law in Texas and Oklahoma. Since receiving his license, he has been a proud member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), where he continues to learn and grow as part of a community of dedicated trial lawyers. Brian has also shared his expertise through CLE talks, including “Want to Know How They Did It? Trial Download with Burkhardt, Puls” to the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association.
Brian’s competitive spirit extends beyond the courtroom. He has competed on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior for five seasons, showcasing his dedication and perseverance. In addition, he represented Team USA in an international competition in Cannes, France. When he’s not practicing law or training, Brian enjoys climbing and exploring the local attractions in Fort Worth, which he is proud to call home.
