Chelsea Cates
Trial Lawyer
A true champion of justice, Chelsea Cates has always carried with her a strong will to fight for the rights of those who cannot fight for themselves. A personal injury attorney at our office in Austin, she focuses her practice on car accidents, premises liability, motorcycle accidents, dog bites, and more.
Chelsea uses her strong attention to detail to help people during crucial times in their lives. Her grandfather was a lawyer who instilled in her the desire to achieve justice for those who have been wronged. In addition to being a stalwart advocate for her clients, Chelsea is known for her approachable and empathetic nature, and she prides herself on providing clients with not only outstanding legal counsel but also personal advice and recovery guidance.
Active in her professional community, Chelsea has benefited the legal industry as a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
A native of Forney, Texas, Chelsea graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in professional writing from Baylor University and went on to earn her juris doctorate from the Baylor University School of Law. While there, she served as senior executive editor of the Baylor Law Review and as a member of the Christian Legal Society, the Public Interest Legal Society, and the Women’s Legal Society. She received Dean’s Academic Honors for seven consecutive semesters as an undergraduate and also during law school, and in recognition of her numerous accomplishments, she was presented with an Andrews Kurth LLP Award.
While in law school, Chelsea gained extensive experience as a judicial intern at the State Office of Administrative Hearings and at the McLennan County Court at Law No. 2, as a legal intern at the Collin County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, and as a law clerk at Zinda Law Group. Since joining our attorney team, she has made a positive difference in the lives of our clients and helped advance the mission of our firm.
Outside the office, Chelsea enjoys spending time outdoors and writing music as a singer-songwriter.
