Matt Ray

Matt Ray is a trial lawyer for Zinda Law Group based in our Austin office. With legal experience that ranges from him litigating personal injury cases to resolving commercial disputes, he is as versatile as he finds the law. Matt is dedicated to providing compassionate representation and skilled advocacy for clients facing personal injuries. His goal is to guide clients through difficult times and help them achieve the justice they deserve.

A native South Texan, Matt completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University – Kingsville, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in history and political science. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. While a law student, Matt clerked for state agencies and litigation firms in the Austin area. He learned early in his legal career that extensive case preparation, sound legal analysis, and zealous advocacy are the tools for successful legal representation.

Prior to joining Zinda Law Group, Matt practiced as a trial attorney for a personal injury firm in Austin. During this time, he independently handled cases from intake through trial. He achieved settlements in hundreds of cases through effective preparation and shrewd advocacy. Matt later handled real estate litigation and corporate transactional matters for a leading Austin law firm representing multi-family housing and hospitality businesses. His engaging demeanor and willingness to put extra effort into navigating clients through the case process has always put his clients at ease and maintained their confidence in his exceptional work.

Matt has also lectured on numerous legal topics in various settings, including the UT CLE seminar and before state and local trade associations. Recently, he authored and presented a publication titled “Negotiating with Insurance Companies: How to Maximize Case Value Through Case Preparation and Presentation of the Demand Package” at the UT CLE Car Crash Seminar. Matt’s dedication to legal excellence extends to his professional memberships, which include the State Bar of Texas and the Austin Bar Association.

Outside the legal realm, Matt enjoys staying active by exercising, venturing outdoors, and enjoying Austin’s food scene. During his undergraduate years, Matt had the opportunity to study abroad in New Zealand and has a strong desire to return and continue travelling whenever possible.
